Showcasing our Working Cocker's

Our Agility Newspage:

Hare N Hounds, Crook Durham, July 2010.

Bailey, Lilly and one of our Show Cocker girls (Blossom) ran today, Considering it ws Blossy's first run she performed very well she still hasnt cracked the weaves and was illiminated but that was not on the cards, to complete, we just wanted to give her some experience on the Agility field. Lilly performed well but unfortunatley she is still a little eratic and can easily lose momentum while combating the course, Tony has said he is going to do alot more training with her over the next few weeks to improve her performance.

Bailey is now starting to show alot more consistancy in this Sport, His first run was very good with only tiny errors, and this performance was rewarded with a 2nd place, not bad considering the little Sheltie who beat him was an experienced grade 5 agility competitor. We still have alot more to do with the girls and we have now also taken the decision to also train Raven under the handling of John, so its gonna be very interesting for us all over the next few months. But Roll on 2010 competitions we are relishing the challenge ahead.

Hardwick Hall, Sedgefield. June 2010.

Our Agility Display for the Public. Both Lilly and Bailey were there displaying Agility for the general public. Bailey is really starting to make headway in taking the agility field and completed the course without any faults, we even won a dogbed as Adrian and Joanne had timed our runs and Bailey came first on one of the runs with no faults. Lilly has just returned from having her pups and she ran really well considering what she has just came through. They both ran really well.

Hare'n'Hounds Barnard Castle April 2010.

We had a good day at the Hare n hounds agility open at the beginning of April this year, Bailey ran well but yet again he is a bit to sharp and eager to get round, I need to polish and refine my handling of him as he can be a bit to fast for me, maybe a diet is called for lol.

Tony ran well with Lilly and we got some cracking pictures to boot of her, one of which is on the main page of this site. She managed a complete with one fault against her, unfortunatley she missed the weave entry and lost it totally over the seesaw and was iliminated, Lilly was 4 weeks pregnant at the time so she can be easily forgiven. However a great day had by all even though it was very cold that weekend.

Waldridge Fell Agility Open Tests.

Date: Saturday 6th February 2010.

We ran 2 of our dogs in the Agility Open tests at Waldridge, Lilly and Bailey were competing, Bailey ran well but unfortunately was eliminated in his first run as he missed the entrance to the weaves, this would have just been logged as a refusal but because I pulled him back and tried again he simply did not want to enter and lost the momentum. His second run would have been an excellent run but unfortunatly for Bailey I guided him the wrong way and thus we were eliminated again, however he performed well and with great speed, His third and final run was near on perfect and very fast but again we surcame to the dreaded weaves. Bailey has only recently perfected his weaves at agility training so maybe we need more time and I certainly need to perfect my handling skills as my eagerness to finish quick will forever be my downfall lol.

Tony ran Lilly and had a very good day in all, the first run did complete with 2 faults to Tony's Joy, Their second run was also very good however again tiny mistakes on the fences added penalties to them, they finished overall out of around 40 dogs 13th, Considering the course was from grades 1 to 7 this was actually not bad at all for Lilly's first competition. Their 3rd and final run was not as fortunate as lilly refused the weaves 3+ and was eliminated, Tony was also very tired by now (he is nearly 50 afterall) lol so I put it down to nerves on the day and weariness of the bones by now, and as Tony said "well she is nearly in season". OK Tony I believe you lol. More info on our agility endevours will no doubt be added as the year progresses.

We have added some terrible quality pictures below we do apologise beforehand for the quality as none of us are photographers, hopefully this will improve with time and experience.
