We would like to welcome you to our site and hope you enjoy reading about our dogs and hope you like what we do at the Woolbails Kennel, through this website you can learn more about our dogs and the hobbies and the activities we enjoy with them.

We are based in Southmoor Village surrounded by beautiful countryside, near Stanley, County Durham, and are very fortunate to be situated within close proximity to several country walks and parks, where we enjoy spending time with our dogs. One of our favourite places to visit is Keilder water, where all our dogs are taken as pups. It is set in fantastic countryside, and a great place for them to run and play, and of course, they love to swim.

All of our dogs love the outdoors and love nothing more than going for a trek over the local fell at Waldridge. The one thing about all cockers they do have a merry and inquisitve character and they are a very sociable dogs that love to be around people and other dogs. To say we are cocker crazy is an understatement as we have fallen very much in love with this little breed of dog.

Over the years, between us, we have had several different breeds, including GSD's and Springer Spaniels, but have come to realise that our true passion lies with the Cocker Spaniel.

To the uninitiated, there are two varieties of Cocker Spaniel - the 'Show Bred Variety' and the 'Working Bred Variety'. Here at Woolbails, we have both, 4 working cockers, Bailey, Raven, Willow and Lily, and 4 show cockers, Blossom, Gypsy, Sophi and Ebony.

Our 'working variety' boys and girls are being trained to work in the field during the season, and we are also doing agility with them and have attended a few competitions. In both disciplines they are showing great promise and we thoroughly enjoy working them.

Our beautiful 'show variety' cockers are helping us to get to grips with the 'show' side of things and we are attending ringcraft classes to learn how to best display their qualities, and hope in the future to attend some breed shows with them and compete in the show ring.

We are not breeders, but we sometimes have quality litters from our girls, and we belong to the KC Accredited Breeder Scheme. All of our dogs are health tested for all the recommended conditions for Cocker Spaniels.
